AI Search Tests

Can AI Search Cite a New Website?

A repeatable field test of whether AI search engines discover and cite a brand-new website, with the prompts, timeline and citation results documented.

Index cards, translucent grid film and research materials arranged for a search study.

Current finding: Early observations are being collected. No general conclusion has been published.

This study asks a narrow question: when a new source publishes original, verifiable material, when does it begin to appear in AI search answers?

Methodology

We defined prompt families before publication and recorded baseline answers. The source pages were then published with crawlable links, descriptive titles and clear supporting passages.

Prompts are repeated on a fixed schedule. Retrieval, mention and direct citation are recorded as separate outcomes.

Variables

The study varies passage format, source specificity and internal linking. It keeps the underlying claims and publication identity consistent.

Results

The experiment is in progress. Observations will be published only after enough repeated checks exist to distinguish a pattern from normal answer variation.

Limitations

Answer engines change rapidly and may personalize or sample responses. A result from one system or prompt family may not transfer to another.

Conclusion

No final conclusion is available yet. The protocol and change log will remain visible while the study runs.
