Keyword Clustering Workflow

A keyword clustering workflow that groups search demand by shared intent, page purpose and real result overlap, so each cluster maps to one page you can own.

Difficulty

intermediate

Works with

spreadsheet, keyword platform export, search result samples

Inputs

  • Keyword list
  • volume and market fields
  • current ranking URLs

Outputs

  • Intent clusters
  • page recommendations
  • merge and split review queue

What it does

This workflow turns a flat keyword export into defensible page groups. It uses language similarity as a clue, then checks intent and result overlap before recommending one page or several.

When to use it

Use it before a new information architecture, content roadmap or consolidation project.

Instructions

Normalize duplicates, preserve market and language fields, and identify obvious navigational queries. Create provisional clusters, then review ambiguous terms against live result patterns.

Keep a review queue. Forced certainty produces weak page maps.

Prompt and skill content

Group the supplied keywords by shared search intent and likely page purpose.
Use result overlap as evidence where it is available.
Keep ambiguous terms in a review queue instead of forcing a cluster.
Return cluster name, representative query, member queries, intended page type and confidence notes.
